Acrobat Writer 8/9 Essentials & Beyond (1 Day Course)
Brief Outline:
This course covers the common issues involved in producing Adobe Acrobat online documents. The course then covers the various ways to convert existing documents into online versions, as well as the issues involved in creating online documents ‘from scratch’.
Important security measures are considered and you will learn how to create interactive PDFs. You create examples of typical PDF documents such as reports, proposals, newsletters and many others.
Detailed Outcomes:
By the end of your learning, you will be able to:
- Describe the full components of Adobe Acrobat and its components: PDF Writer, Acrobat Distiller, Acrobat Catalogue and Acrobat Reader.
- Use the PDF writer to create PDF files from different applications.
- Consider layout options such as font imbedding, compression and different graphics to minimise file sizes.
- Add security to prevent opening, copying and/or printing.
- Add navigation and multimedia elements to PDFs.
- Define bookmarks and hyperlinks.
- Prepare MS Word documents for easier conversion.
- Set up styles and bookmarks in MS Word.
- Add hyperlinks and cross-references in MS Word.
- Scan paper documents and convert to PDF.
- Build more complex online documents by combining PDFs, inserting files and cropping pages.
Recommended Prior Experience (Prerequisites):
No experience in using Acrobat Writer is required nor assumed. Participants are expected to have a sound knowledge of and experience with a Windows PC.
