Outlook 2003 Essentials & Beyond (1 Day Course)
Brief Outline:
Microsoft Outlook is a full-featured communication, scheduling and management tool. CLASS Training’s comprehensive, hands-on course will take trainees through the most common, most effective and most powerful features of this application using easy-to-follow demonstrations, explanations and exercises.
Classes are relatively small, so that delegates can work at their own pace on their own PC with assistance from the instructor.
As well as looking at the most common aspects of e-mailing, scheduling and management within Outlook, participants will also be taken through the important options and preferences. These allow users to customise their Outlook features so that the software works for them.
Detailed Outcomes:
By the end of your learning, you will be able to:
- Describe the Outlook screen and how it works
- Set up options and address books, ready for use
- Send, receive, reply and forward e-mail
- Use To, cc and bcc correctly in e-mails
- Send e-mail attachments using shortcuts
- View e-mail efficiently (in groups, highlighted, etc)
- Manage e-mail (move, copy, create subfolders, etc)
- Use ‘Rules Wizard’ to automatically manage e-mail
- Use the Calendar (appointments, formatting, etc)
- Manage meetings and invite others
- Create and assign tasks and notes
- Use the Journal and track information for contacts
- State options for backing up and archiving data
Recommended Prior Experience (Prerequisites):
No experience in using Outlook is required nor assumed. Participants are expected to have a sound knowledge of and experience with a Windows PC.

Brief Outline:
The Advanced course illustrates the power of Outlook. After a quick revision of the important basics, Outlook’s powerful mail merging features, its ability to search all Outlook information, and filtering of information are covered in the hands-on exercises.
How to convert tasks into calendar appointments, or create new contacts directly from e-mails is also covered.
Outlook also has the ability to create and format templates that can be used for leave applications, expenditure requests, and other similar examples that need to be e-mailed to relevant personnel.
