






Intro to PCs - for
Beginners
(1 day or 2 evenings)

General Outline
This course is designed as an introduction to those who have
never seen or used a keyboard or a computer. It takes participants right back to the
basics and describes in simple terms, the main aspects of computer hardware and the basics
of using a computer. Everyday terms are used where possible to make the participant feel
at ease and unthreatened.
You will learn all about the Windows operating system and how to use it.
You will be taken through simple exercises that allow you to become familiar with the
all-important mouse, including navigating files and folders, creating simple
documents, e-mailing and surfing the Internet.
The course covers
the basics of using a computer and will definitely get you up and running in no time.

General Information
Previous Experience Recommended
No experience with the PC is required.
Class Size
The number of trainees is restricted to a maximum of 10, or as
required by your organisation. Each trainee is trained on a Pentium 4 PC with 17" flat-screen monitor and access to broadband Internet, printing and demonstration facilities.

contains hands-on exercises that are easy-to-follow, and are practical and relevant. The
training manual will also serve as an excellent reference tool back at the office or home
long after the course. Our training manuals are developed and produced in-house by our
experienced tutors, who have used the software in real-world situations. All exercises
follow a logical sequence and show you how to tackle your typical projects. A list of
keyboard shortcuts and other important information is included.
- Refreshments: For full-day courses, you
will receive a comprehensive lunch and refreshments.
- Customisation of courses: We can redesign
our courses to cover other or additional outcomes and so make our courses even more
relevant for you. Please inquire about this if you have any specific needs.
- Support: Free unlimited phone support on
the material covered is provided for all courses. The support means that you can phone us
during business hours or e-mail us anytime to get answers about any specific problems you
might have. If we can't solve your problem immediately we will do some research and get
back to you.
Please note: This free support only covers your specific questions that
relate back to the material covered in the course you attended. We can provide you with
consultancy for additional help you might need beyond that.
Complimentary Follow-up: When the course is running again later and there is a seat
available, you'll be invited back for a free refresher. This can be used for fine-tuning
your skills or for asking any specific questions you might have. You can come for the
whole course or just part of it, and it's a great way to ensure that you maintain your
momentum in using the program.
Certificate: You'll receive a certificate
of achievement which details the outcomes you achieved for the particular course attended.
