Firstly, a big Merry Xmas to all of you out there, and all the best in your working and personal lives for the new year. CLASS Training will break for Xmas on Wednesday, December 22, and well reopen on Monday, January 17, 2000.
After all this waiting and expectation, the new century is upon us, ready to present us with new challenges and new decisions to make. The Year 2000 will see the introduction of the GST, the Sydney Olympics, and the ever-increasing pressure to consider the Internet as a business tool.
Here at CLASS Training we are gearing ourselves up for these challenges and we are more than ready to help and guide you through your decisions. Our services of computer courses in small classes, one-on-one training, consultancy, as well our unlimited phone support, free refresher courses and our comprehensive web site, are all designed to make you more productive and your computer work much easier in your organisation or business.
As you may be aware, the GST version of
MYOB has now been released. All our courses in MYOB, including the Setup, Transactions,
Payroll and CashBook courses, have been upgraded to include the new version,
as well as the GST. All courses are approved and recommended by the publishers of MYOB,
which allows us to display the following logo:

Also, we have been using MYOB for our business since version 3 was released in 1992, so we have the background, experience and support to advise you on the best ways to use the package for your business. So, for a comprehensive course or advice on the best ways for using the software to manage your business, please call us.
Weve devoted much of this newsletter to the new features of MYOB, which you really should read, even if you do not use an accounting program. Some of the new features may surprise you, and one particular new feature may cause some people a few financial headaches.
Our course schedule lists the new courses. Later newsletters will road-test the GST-compatible version of QuickBooks.
All hardware and software used at CLASS Training for tuition and management purposes has been successfully tested as being Year 2000 compliant. Eighteen new PCs Pentium II-class machines with 128 MB RAM and high-resolution monitors have recently been installed.
Making Your Web Site Interesting
As you may well know already, you are visiting our web site which went live on April 19. Weve really tried hard to make the web site an interesting site to visit, as well as be a comprehensive summary of the courses and services we provide.
If your web site is simply an advertisement for your business or organisation and thus doesnt give visitors ongoing reasons for coming back, then you are not benefitting from the value your web site can give you. Just as you wouldnt sit down in front of the TV to solely watch a bunch of ads, or sit in front of the fire with the Yellow Pages for a relaxing read, people are not going to visit your web site on an ongoing basis just to read about the same products and services you sell. One of the more important aspects of marketing your business or organisation, if not the most important, is to find ways to keep the same customers or clients coming back. If the information on your web site is not updated regularly, or does not add value, then visitors will not return to it. Give them a taste of the benefits you provide and visitors to your site will keep coming back, will become more confident with your products or services, and will then hopefully do ongoing business with you.
Examples of value-added information a web site can provide includes:
There are many other examples in addition
to this small sample.
It should not take long for a business to determine what type of value-added information
can be included in a web site, in addition to the usual information regarding their
products and services.
