General Outline
This course will show you how powerful yet easy it is to use FrontPage to create your Internet web sites. You will learn the basics behind what is meant by a web site, and the important questions you should yourself when planning your web site and its outcomes.

You will then complete exercises that show you how to add text and graphics to your web home page, and then how to create other pages that link to and from the home page. You will learn about the different design methods for navigating your web site and how to implement those into a web site.

You will learn about the basics of HTML coding to make changes to your site, and you will look at ways to maximise the presentation and navigability of your site.

The important aspects of adding graphics and hyperlinks on graphics is covered in the hands-on exercises. You will learn how to format and manipulate graphics, and you will look at the differences between JPG and GIF graphics and when to use them.

You will look at advanced formatting techniques, including adding animation and sound, and you will learn how important tables are in creating the design effect and layout you want.

The last exercise you will complete looks at how to finally test and then publish your site on the World Wide Web. You will be amazed at how easy it is to publish to the Internet ready for the whole world to see.

General Outline
This course takes you to next stage of web site creation. You will learn about some of the advanced design layouts of web sites, in particular how to create, edit and use frames in a web site. You will also look at some advanced site management skills that can be achieved with FrontPage Explorer.

You will look at more in-depth information with regards to JPG and GIF graphics, and you will complete some exercises on how to create backgrounds and buttons from scratch using Image Composer.

FrontPage has many built-in active elements. You will learn about what active elements are, how to use them, and the problems you need to be aware of when using them. Also, you will look at how to create forms, what they can be used for, and the sorts of problems you need to understand.

You will be taken through an introduction to Javascript and CGI programming. You will learn about what these mean, how to use them, when to use them, and what to be careful of.

FrontPage General Information

Previous Experience Recommended
Introductory Course: Experience with a mouse and Windows is recommended. CLASS Training's Introducton to the Internet course or some knowledge and use of the Internet is also recommended.
Advanced Course: CLASS Training's Creating Web Sites (Introduction) course, or some experience with Microsoft FrontPage, and CLASS Training's Introduction to the Internet course or some knowledge and use of the Internet are recommended.

Class Size
The number of trainees is restricted to a maximum of 10, or as required by your organisation. Each trainee is trained on a Pentium 4 PC with 17" flat-screen monitor and access to broadband Internet, printing and demonstration facilities.
